"Hey Old Man"
Many musician dream of becoming a star and many of those that do, spend years of anonymity in dingy bars and lonely venues to become an "overnight" success. Only to find that the success, the money, and all the other perks are not what filled their soul. The motivation and enjoyment wane and after some period of time, the realization is that being in the spotlight is not what was gratifying. The is that the heart and emotions were filled by the creation, the message and the melody even when no one but the silence would hear.

LYRICS
Hey old man what are doing out there Sittin' on your porch rockin' in your rockin chair
A cabin in the woods on the shore of a mountain lake Snow frosted peaks your saving grace
A cup of coffee in your hand your favorite guitar at your side Every morning watching the sun on the rise
To look at you no one would ever dream The bridges you crossed the crazy things that you've seen
It began one night in a smoke filled dim lit saloon A flat top guitar and you and your favorite tunes
Playing for tips and an occasional beer Just a ghost in the corner your future unclear
Melody's poured from your soul through your fingers and your guitar
Stories that others could cling too finally made you a star
Anything you wanted was your desire Fast living and too much money finally put out the fire
Hey Old Man your hair is turning gray Every line on your face marks another year that you played
The music took a backseat to the roar of the crowd Didn't take long you finally burned out
You sat in your hotel room with your head in hands
Tears drippin' from eyes you knew that this was the end
Passions and emotions began to collide But it was the message and the music that filled you inside
Now you're sitting all alone with six friendly strings The feeling is back in the music and the words that you sing
Songs that could change the world if people would hear But they only drift into the cool mountain air
Hey old man what are doing out there Singing songs from the heart it only seems fair
Your days are numbered long ago you finally quit counting
Sitting at your cabin in the woods up high in the mountains
Hey old man what are doing out there Sittin' on your porch rockin' in your rockin chair (repeat)
